Kegels For Men: Advance PC Muscle Exercises

I’ve wanted to write about the benefits of kegel exercises for men for some time now, since I started to practice them a few years ago sporadically. More recently, I’ve been regularly practicing kegels with the aim of strengthening my abilities in having regular sex and tantric sex.

Let’s start with the standard wikipedia definition.

If you’re male or female you’re going to notice something about that definition right away, especially with the illustration. It’s focused on women.

Kegels Are Not Just For Women

Kegels are often discussed in relation to women’s sexual health: by strengthening the pelvic floor, women keep their vaginas nice and tight, which enhances sexual pleasure. But wait… there’s major benefits for men doing kegels as well.

As a rule of thumb, kegel exercises seem to have a benefit for men in terms of the following points:

  • Possibly helping to prevent premature ejaculation.

  • Strengthening everything to possibly help with erectile dysfunction.

  • Similarly, strengthening down there to help with those of us who might have a slightly bent or crooked lingam.

  • They definitely help with making your eventual ejaculatory orgasms more intense.

  • Helping practice non-ejaculatory orgasm in men and dry orgasm.

So, from the list above alone it’s obvious why this should be a core part of your tantric sex exercises and practice.

What Is The PC Muscle?

So how do you do them and what are they?

Well first of all, let’s explain what the PC muscle, or the pubococcygeus muscle, part of the overall Levator Ani group of abdominal muscles in both male and female are down in your groin area. These muscles, the PC in particular, stretches from your anus to the ejaculatory sphincter. Like with any muscle or part of the body, exercising and strengthening will only make for a better experience.

Simply put, a kegels exercise is a flexing, or tensing, of this PC muscle. Like when you have to stop having a wee mid-stream. Or if you have a fart you want to keep in for some reason and clench down on your anus. That’s kind of it in very basic terms.

So, to practice and work on this part of your body, which in turn will help you to understand more about who you are and what you can do, do something along these lines to begin. The next time you’re having a wee, try to stop the flow mid-stream. Then, start it again. That’s a basic kegel that men can practise daily.

That muscle you feel tightening is the one you need to work. And the more you do it, or certainly I have found, the more you can isolate it and work on it for different things.

That simple squeeze you’re doing will work your pelvic-floor muscles and you should see a small rise, or jump, in your cock as you do it.

If you’re in the privacy of your own home you can also try to focus on where this muscle is by putting a couple of your fingers behind your testicles and feeling the muscle contract. And, of course, if you’re comfortable with anal play on yourself, you can insert a finger into your anus and try to clamp down on it. All are working the same muscle.

That’s it - that’s a kegel.

So what have I been doing in this area and what benefits have I seen?

Benefits For Sex, Premature Ejaculation And Orgasm In Men

Well, first of all let me say I became interested in PC kegels mostly for reasons of prolonging intercourse and avoiding premature ejaculation (PE). What I found is that this can indeed help, with PE in particular. This something I did suffer with when I first started a relationship with Shivapriya, isn’t just down to muscle control - PE is about so much more.

For me, it was mostly about confidence, self awareness and anxiety about performance. As a result, I wasn’t able to fully relax into sex and be mindful of my own needs, as well as hers. In all honesty, while I am sure my kegels have worked for my PE, they’ve not done anything near as much to help me last a LOT longer (although I’m still no porn style mega-lasting porn star shagger that’s for sure!) than I did before. So exercises are one thing for that, but not the be all and end all.

What I have found is that the eventual ejaciulation orgasm, if that’s what you are after, is much stronger than it was before. More intense for me, much more explosive in terms of where I cum - much to the amusement and possibly annoyance of Shivapriya at times as well when it shoots around the room, walls, her hair, etc. But that’s for another time. Let’s just say, it’s explosive.

My Male Kegel Routine

My routine for kegels is simple really but it works well. For my job I find i have to travel on a train for at least 2 hours a day - one hour each way. This is my kegel time. So take from this that you can do this in most places and no one will know you’re doing anything at all - massive benefit.

The PC muscle can be contracted in different ways, just like any muscle, to get different strengths and benefits. So I tend to do sets of 10 kegels like this:

  • Short pulsing set. Often while listening to music to regulate the beat. Like the kind of pulse you feel when you ejaculate and the penis pulses. Repeat three times for a total of 30.

  • Front focused extended hold - clenching just the muscles around the base of the penis, and not the anus. You’ll need to learn how to do this and not just clench the whole muscle at once, but this will come the more you practice. Hold for 10 seconds each. Do a set of ten, and repeat 3 times.

  • Back focused extended hold. Same as above, but clench around your anus rather than your cock. 10 seconds. 10 times. 3 sets.

  • Whole muscle, super-long hold, As long as you can hold I tend to do 60 seconds. Repeat as long as you can till it starts to become too hard or you lose steength. Relax until ready to do it again. Repeat 3 times.

This is my routine. Now, I am NOT a doctor, and I am NOT a sex therapist or qualified in any way - this is just from what I have read and listened to and picked up from others. So take my advice above as just that, advice on what I do.

But the benefits I have seen have been substantial. I am definitely stronger in that overall region.
